Sleep

Written on 6 April 93

Restless, yet weary
I sit here and ponder
Life's great mysteries
I just let my mind wander

Rational thought ceases
As fatigue creeps in
Your subconscious takes control
Reality is wearing thin

Scenes appearing real
Are all that you can see
As sleep pulls you in closer
You lose the urge to flee

Finally you surrender
No longer able to ignore
Your body's plea for healing
It asks for nothing more
